Base Building Renovation

For the center piece of the Base Building Renovation at 120 Park Avenue in New York City, Gensler chose Evans & Paul to manufacture a glowing faceted desk.  The desk is 30 feet long and houses a fully integrated building security system.   The desk includes a 24ft tall cantilevered tower that incorporates a stainless steel skin with cutout lettering to provide the building’s street signage.

Evans and Paul manufactured and installed the complete unit, including structural steel, architectural metals, Corian, millwork and lighting.

During the design development phase, Evans & Paul met with the Gensler Team and their clients in the Dupont Corian Design Studio in New York City, to coordinate fully integrated 3D computer models with lighting and material mockups to bring the design concept to life.  Mockups were used to evaluate various lighting options and the potential use of patterns on the Corian.

The final installation is made from Translucent Glacier Ice Corian lit by a full array of Traxon monochromatic, cold white, 1PXL boards and strips.  All the fixtures are mounted on rails to allow for service.

Evans & Paul shower pans and surrounds are fully customizable products. In addition to length and width, the curb height, threshold width, and drain location are able to be specified according to your requirements. Our medical cabinets offer accessible design in an assortment of combinations to meet any storage demands.  The cabinets can be recessed to create integral transitions to the walls of the surround, or freestanding options are available to fit the needs of preexisting spaces.

Along with our standard partition systems, Champion Partitions by Evans & Paul now offers Ligature Resistant Partitions featuring solid surface sloped doors, continuous hinges and specially designed pilasters.  Like all of our partition systems, these are designed for easy installation, or you can opt for our optional installation services.

Both the series 100′s and 200′s of the toilet paper dispensers are featured anti-ligature products approved by the Office of Mental Health for New York. Evans & Paul offers single and double rolls for both the semi recessed and the surface mounted versions. Both units are made completely from solid surface material with bolt on construction which come with flexible dowels made from breakaway polyethylene foam rubber.

These units are available in a variety of colors and can be integrated into an existing wall structure or seamlessly integrated into a corian wall surface. Minor cuts or scratches can easily be removed. Due to the structure of solid surface, these products will resist stains, are easy to clean and are simple to renew. There are many different design possibilities with the different vanity options by Evans & Paul. Evans & Paul offers both ADA compliant vanities, along with Ligature Resistant options. These hygienic, durable and easy to clean vanities are ideal for healthcare and public restrooms. The solid surfaces are non-porous, preventing the growth of mold, mildew and bacteria. This surfacing material is Class 1 rated and Greenguard certified.

The Vanity Series 21 AL a is fully compliant vanity with Anti-Ligature features. These features include a conical faucet, push button activations, a temper proof trap panel and a cabinet design featuring fully smoothed corners.

The Sink Series 100′s are under mount sinks designed to be seamlessly integrated into a solid surface counter, but can also be mounted under any counter top. It features fully coved construction, an optional overflow, and either a vanity or kitchen style drain.

This unit can be customized to your dimensional specifications and comes in an array of shapes as part of the sink series 100 ‘s. Material is Solid Surface construction. Minor cuts or scratches can easily be removed. Due to the structure of solid surface sinks resist stains, are easy to clean and are simple to renew.
