The Heart of Times Square

February 25th, 2009

As Times Square Alliance President Tim Tompkins explains, “Times Square has always been a place where tradition and technology meet.” On February 13th - 22nd of 2008 Evans and Paul took part in the construction of a 12 foot tall heart shaped sculpture commisioned by Zales in the center of the newly redesigned Father Duff Square in Times Square. The design, by Gage/Clemenceau Architects, called for over 350 sheets of Strawberry Ice Corian donated by DuPont and yielded 26 CNC milled pieces with heart shapes and engraved linework.
